Our honest take on Koh Samui

Koh Samui is Thailand’s beach destination for people who want a bit of luxury without going full resort-mode. The beaches are stunning, the food is great and Ang Thong National Marine Park is one of the best day trips in all of Thailand. Chaweng beach can get crowded — head to Bophut or Maenam for a quieter, more local vibe.

Best time to visit Koh Samui
December–April is dry season with calm seas and blue skies — the best time to visit. Koh Samui’s rainy season runs October–December, which is later than the rest of Thailand due to its east coast position on the Gulf of Thailand.
