We’re Matthew and Tyler — twins from Vancouver who refused to let full-time jobs get in the way of seeing the world. Our girlfriends come too. This is our travel blog.

Matthew is the one turning ideas into actual trips.
He’s constantly mapping routes, optimizing itineraries, and figuring out how to fit the most into a limited number of days without it feeling rushed. If there’s a better way to structure a trip, he’s already found it.
But beyond the planning, he’s always chasing the experience. Whether it’s hiking the Kumano Kodo in Japan, finding hidden beaches in Hawaii, or saying yes to something slightly outside his comfort zone, he’s the one pushing every trip just a little further.
If it requires effort to get there, it’s probably worth it.

Tyler is the reason every trip feels elevated.
He’s all about the details that make a trip memorable — the restaurant you still think about months later, the hotel that just feels right, the experiences that turn a good trip into an unforgettable one.
He’s the one researching where to eat, what’s actually worth it, and where a little extra spend makes all the difference. From hole-in-the-wall spots with lines out the door to beautifully designed stays, he knows how to find the balance between indulgence and value.
If it looks good, tastes incredible, or feels like an upgrade — he’s already bookmarked it.

Where we’ve been
Why we started this blog
We started Our Trips Abroad because we were tired of travel content written by
people who travel full time. We don’t. We have jobs, we pay rent, and we
get the same amount of vacation days as everyone else.
But we’ve figured out how to squeeze two weeks in Japan, a long weekend in Banff
and a Jamaica all-inclusive into a normal working life — and we started documenting
it so you could too.
No fluff, no sponsored opinions, no “quit your job and travel” nonsense. Just real
trips, real costs and honest takes on everything we’ve done. If we loved it,
we’ll tell you. If it wasn’t worth it, we’ll tell you that too.
