Best time to visit North Island
Late spring through early fall is the best time to explore North Vancouver Island — longer daylight hours, calmer weather and the ideal season for whale watching, road trips, hiking and coastal adventures. Winter feels quieter and moodier, but also incredibly beautiful if you enjoy storm watching and rainforest scenery.

Our honest take on North Island
North Vancouver Island feels wild in the best possible way. The scenery feels more rugged, the towns are quieter and everything seems more connected to nature compared to the southern part of the island.   What we love most is how untouched parts of it still feel. One moment you’re driving along dramatic coastlines, the next you’re walking through old-growth rainforest or spotting wildlife right off the highway.   It’s slower, calmer and less polished than bigger destinations, but that’s exactly what makes it so special. For us, North Island is one of the most underrated places in British Columbia.
